Unpopular thought: The Dark Lord is supposed to be this extremely smart dark wizard. His death eaters… most of them with the exception of a few are relatively intelligent as well. I get Voldemort not wanting to go into the ministry and trying to remain in the dark but what sense does it make to send HP to receive the prophecy? He had to make Harry believe Sirius Black was in danger, HP has to find a way to sneak out of Hogwarts ( which is a huge risk) get from Hogwarts to London somehow, sneak into the Ministry after hours, break into a department off limits to everyone except Unspeakables, go through out the department in search of Sirius, and finally after they get the prophecy the Death Eaters have to persuade a bunch of teenagers to hand it over? In the midst of doing all that HP and his friends manage to destroy half the Department, Order members are dispatched, Dumbledore makes a grand entrance, Ministry sees exactly what they were trying to avoid and 9 followers ( mind you some of his best) are carted off to Azkaban. Would it had made more sense and alot less time and energy for the Dark Lord to bring a few of his people into the DOM go in grab his prophecy and leave again without all the extra fuss? He never needed HP in the first place, it would have been a in and out without the fighting, annoying teenagers, without alerting the Order, Ministry and Dumbledore. I know it’s just a story but the whole fiasco at the DOM is sort of infuriating to me. With a little bit of logic and thought the whole thing could have been avoided. I get annoyed by how unrealistic the story gets. Grown men and women in their 40’s and up who have been practicing dark magic since they themselves were teens, are over powered and outsmarted by a bunch of teens who barley just got through their OWL’s? I always imagined the death eaters and the Dark Lord to be crazy powerful and doing some amazing magic but I was a little disappointed with how weak their characters were represented. I wonder if anyone else feels this way?
